Internet options for the camp?

I pretty much live at my camp these days. Internet would definitely come in handy.

I'm not real technologically savvy. I've seen commercials for company's providing Internet for "out in the woods" homes. (Hughesnet?)

Anybody have experience with anything like this?

Satellite internet is probably your only option. Dish and hughesnet.

They are quite expensive and really not that fast. But if that's your only option, I would have to get something. Lol.

Hughes net is the biggest POS excuse for Internet. We used it on a jobsite once. It made life miserable.

If you have decent cell service at the camp then the verizon hotspot mifi is the way to go. I have one for work and it works pretty well. I have even used it to stream LSU games in several remote places.

Use the camp as a break from technology.

Get a range extender or cell booster. We have one at the camp in the marsh and the service inside the camp is the same as if you were in the middle of Baton Rouge.

If you get cell coverage, Verizon Jetpack is your answer.

Ya but it's one of the satellite companies. I called the guy running it (it's just a one or 2 man operation) and he sounded like a frickin retard
