Looking at camping out there this weekend. Which camping spots (on water) are the nicest? I seem to recall a few OBers who are locals out there.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: How is the bank fishing around the campground this time of year?

Here is the map

Ranked roughly in order of my preference:

95
99
94
93
57
59
54
45
43

9-24 are great too, but that is a different section(Old folks home) and is a longer idle in the boat from the main lake. If no boat, those are actually nicer spots with a better table set up and better pads for the most part. Way less vehicle traffic.

Oh, and I feel the need to tell those coming from the South - do not throw a spinner bait there unless the month begins with an F or is on either side of that month.

I'm looking at either 57 or 59 as they are closer to the playground. Looks like 57 would be better to block N wind under the canopy. Any advice on that?

57 would provide more blocking due to angle of the pad.

I limit us to 2 hours. Wife hates that.

it'd be nice to find some place a bit further out of our range than 45min - 1 hr, that could be worth it for a 3-4 day trip.

Depending on weather, early/mid February through the spawn. Beat banks with a Rapala and/or weightless finesse worm.

One last question Alx,

Are electric hookups 30a or 50a?

Both. I use a pig tail to the 50 for the main power, then pig tail to the 30 for accessories. That leaves me the two 15s for various other crap. Oh, and either 59 or 61(can't remember) had the outlet pretty far away. I had to use an extension once. That's the only site in the park I know of like that.

Thanks! Camper is 50 but with only one A/C unit with heat strip, I can be just fine with 30. I usually run extension cords for all outside things
