would say a spear is more "hunting" than a modern high powered rifle.

Second that. And he was pretty good with that second throw that was obviously intended to finish it off. The video was 2:13 and it played twice plus some time before the first spear. Thats hardly "neither quick or humane". Of couse chasing turkeys for bragging rights and fun is "humane" Im sure though.

My turkey kill rate is par excellence, all drops and no flops. You better believe that each one gets the reverence that it deserves including riding shotgun on the way home and a prominent position in the Wiltz families dinner menu.

I bet the meat is going to be great now, after it layed on the ground for 5 minutes trying to die with adreline coursing through its veins.

'm all for blasting invasive species like hogs and have killed dozens myself. To the extent possible I do feel an obligation to provide a quick and humane death to the animals I harvest.
Spot on. This one kind of stung me a lil bit. I hate them damn hogs just as much as anybody else, but I can't stand to see one in distress like that.

I understand how some people such as yourself have this opinion, and I respect it. And yes, I know anti-hunters feed off of these videos. Anti-hunters are damn-near roaches anyway, so I really don't care what they think.

I also know there are some people who don't believe in God. Although I am a believer, I don't go around pushing my beliefs on everyone. That may go against the fundamentals of Christianity, but I feel it is my responsibility to nurture the souls of the 3 little girls I have at home before worrying about people I don't know. But I digress....

I don't believe deer, turkeys, hogs, pigeons, gophers, dogs, cats, sheep, horses, cows, turtles, snakes, crickets, ants, buffalo, Galapagos tortoises, monkeys, fishes, squirrels, or any other non-human creature on this planet has a soul capable of functioning outside of the planet Erf, therefore I really don't care if they flop, squeal, convulse, gurgle, bellow, hop around, or suffer. They are a food source, nothing else, and I'm sure not going to waste a bullet, arrow, spear, or good stick to calm one down before I drag it out. They'll bleed out eventually.

Honestly I don't see how that was any worse than what millions of people do every year with a bow and arrow. It's the same method of kill. You just don't normally have to sit there and watch it.

I mean how many times have you heard an anti hunter talk about how it's not sport to 'shoot a poor animal from a mile away with a high powered sniper rifle, do it with a spear or a knife or something like a man'. Well, there ya go Mr Anti. Feel better about it now?

The vid is only 2:13 long and that's showing two different POVs. When the animal stops kicking he hits it with another spear and dies shortly there after. Stand POV from first spear till expiration is a little over a minute. Don't see the problem is it the method?

Don't you bow hunt?

And "humane" is a word repetitively used out of context in modern society. I have no reason to treat an animal humane as they are not human.

FWIW I have seen plenty of vital shot hogs kick, squeal, and run for MUCH MUCH MUCH longer than that speared hog.

I see you missed the point. What does this have to do with what that guy did? Nada. I would assume he ate the thing since he was harvesting one and not 50. And where your bird rides on the way home doesnt have anything to do with how others may view it. My point was just because it isnt your cup of tea doesnt make it inhumane. You made it sound like he was torturing the thing when he made a good hit and then sent another to finish it within the minute.

That's badass don't get me wrong and I fricking hate hogs with everything inside of me (easily cost me over 3g's in the past 5 years) but I didn't like that. That seemed pretty cruel IMHO. I mean I bow hunt but I doubt he got enough thrust into the spear to send it through it's lungs or heart etc. He probably jacked up it's muscles then it bled to death.

I just want to stress that I hate PETA, Hogs and love hunting with everything inside of me. But I also believe in taking game the quickest and most humane way possible.
