any tips? I bought some seeds online and started them weeks ago and nothing so far. My Jalapenos and Ghost Peppers sprouted, but nothing on the Reapers.

Soak your seeds in warm tap water for 24 hours. When you plant your seeds, keep the cups as warm as possible. I put mine out in the direct sunlight during the day and put them on top of the water heater or a heating pad at night until they sprout.

Where did you get your seeds from? Apparently some of the seeds you can buy on Amazon aren't worth a crap.

Good luck!! I've tried several times and can't get them to germinate. They have a tough outer coating and it's a bitch. If you do please let me know

I got them from pepper Joe's. I'm trying the wet paper towel method next.

That's where I got mine from and they've done well. Keep them warm and give them time. They'll make it.

Probably 10 - 15 days. They're very slow.

I've had good success with hard headed germinaters by using the paper towel method with a twist. I place them in the paper towels and place the paper towels flat inside a clear, zip lock bag. I blow a little air into the bag, seal it, and tape it to a window that will get sun/warmth.

Would a chemical or abrasive scarification work?

If you plan on growing peppers in the future you need to get a heat mat. Alot of flowers and vegetables need soil temps around 80 degrees to sprout. You can get peppers to sprout in 2-3 days with a heat source. Otherwise it may take 2-3 weeks. I actually use a heating pad that you use for your body.

I put 4 seeds in a wet paper towel and zip lock bag yesterday afternoon. I'm going to go ahead and plant 2 of them after 24hrs and plant the other 2 after 7 days. I'll update when/if any of them sprout.

Great advice! I used the body pad last year, but made the investment in these waterproof heat mats this year and love them: Amazon heat pads

Guys they sprouted! I bought a heating pad like the one above and did the paper towel method. I used a coffee filter instead from earlier that morning. I put 2 seeds in the damp filter and folded it and put it in a zip-lock bag for 48 hours. I then planted it in a red plastic cup of potting soil and covered with saran wrap. It took only 8 days from there to germinate.

I plan on making hot sauces and stuff. Mostly it's to give away. People are going crazy for Reapers right now.
