How do I kill these pickets/stickers in yard ?

since I can't get pic to show
I put down some pre-emergent weed killed but it obviously didn't work here. It is growing in a combination of St Aug, Burmuda and probably centipede.

Anything that contains 2,4-D.
Trimec, WeedFreeZone, Speedzone, etc.
FYI: if the hardened stickers have already formed, you're too late
