Have a pond in my backyard and bumble bees have made a nest in it. These are some bad son of a bitches. Sent my wife’s uncle to hospital on the fourth. Tried dish soap and water but no use. Don’t want to put gas or diesel in tree. What works? Any poison? Chemical? Home remedy?

Bumbles are usually pretty timid and mild. I have a massive red wasp invasion I am currently battling. Does the soap and water work on them? Raid is expensive and I am going to go through a case easy.

I’ve used blue dawn & water in a pump sprayer with success against wasps

Option 1 for me is someone else does it. If you have a general pest control contract, ask them if that type of thing is covered. Was for me, I made that happen but unfortunately after they got me first.

Used soap and water last night and went out there today and had to run like hell to get away from them.

How much soap did you use? I have killed upwards of ten ground hornets/bumble bee nest with dish soap poured at night.
I put about one sams bottle to a mop bucket of water, it’s almost blue.

HOT water and Dawn 100 percent works on wasp. I do not know about bumble bees.

Get a long pipe with some moss on the end and light the moss on fire. Stick fire in the tree. Have a hose pipe or buckets of pond water nearby just in case.

Or a flamethrower

???

You can almost hold bumblebees in your hand and pet them. They are flying pandas.

Tried this tonight and the damn moss in the tree and around the nest caught a fire. Was a pain in the arse to put out because bees started coming out. My wife’s uncle was fishing and they attacked him.

Bumble bees are NOT aggressive and are of great benefit to pollination - suggest you have an expert determine what type of pest you have - if it is wasps or hornets, eliminate them - if it is bumble bees, leave them alone.

You sure they’re bumble bees? I’ve never seen them nest in mass.

Whatever they are, if you really want to get rid of them just get some wasp/hornet spray in a can and go spray them.

What most people call “bumble bee” is known by most are carpenter bees, what he is talking about are probably a Bombus species. Carpenter Bees look like them, but Bombus species will bust your arse. (They live in the colonies in the ground and cavities, not the carpenter bees that tunnel in your exposed wood on the house)

It's been my experience that bumbles nest in the ground. And anyone who thinks they aren't aggressive, try messaging with the nest. I know a couple of guy who have gotten lit up.

They could be Africanized bees, if you want them gone get a can of Bengal roach spray. Its a fine aerosol powder that is permethrin. It will expand into a void, ball game.

Spray some bifen/talstar where they are coming in and out. I had some carpenter bees make a nest under my shed last summer. They got after me pretty good while mowing grass. I had to spray the void where they were coming out a couple of times but I got rid of them.
