Anybody ever been on a duck hunt at Honey Brake? How was the experience? Cost? My FIL and I are looking for a new spot to go for our yearly hunt. Thanks.

Buddy is considering it but the $1,000/day rate has him looking at other places. He’s going to Alberta cheaper that a three day hunt there and will kill limits morning and afternoon in AB.

They call it the honeybrake experience for a reason. Experience/lodge/food is great.

Hunts have been sub par over the past few years.

Geez I cant believe you really just recommended this clown. Not only is he a POS, his place an whole operation is a gar hole. His little video last year that surfaced wasn't the first time he treated paying clients like trash. Stay away from MegaBucks!

I would recommend Daves Bayou, they are a bit pricey as well but the guide blinds on that place are kill holes.

Baw, let ole Jared take you hunting. At his word a minute rate he will get about two stories told to you before it's time to pack .

He is good people, makes me laugh. Definitely not worth the price to hunt there though if you want to kill numbers if quality birds. Go NW or to Canada.

I hear the accommodations at the lodge are nice. They have a great trap shooting course that is a lot of fun as well.

But at the end of the day I am not going to pay $1,200 to stay on Saline and hunt Catahoula lake. If I am paying that I would look into Grosse Savanne. Depending on your budget you could probably get on a solid blast and cast in November.

ETA: they also have ridiculous bass fishing in their private marshes.

It’s pretty pricey but they cater mostly to out of state folks wanting the whole experience of Louisiana

Camp neighbors have called it "Honey Broke"a time or two from their trips. Hunting can be good or tough, just like anywhere else. Lodge looks really nice, food has appeared legit from what I've seen, but at end of the day its still hunting and there's only going to be so many "good blinds" that some get to go to, and some don't.

Have heard good things about Dave's Bayou but no experience there. I have an annual trip to Doug's near Lake Arthur I've done for a good many years now, strictly to hunt the fresh marsh they hunt and it's been good more often than not. A bit more "campy" than some of the fancier places, but its good people, and I like it.

Can confirm. That thing is legit.

I personally think the whole “experience” is overpriced, but I suppose it could scratch some people’s itch.

Well I know they kill a lot of ducks there. I hunt with a guy next door to his farm. I don’t know him personally my self.
