Hog bait holes ** ( Update)

Take some burlap sacks and wire them to trees, pour burnt motor oil on the sacks, the Hogs will visit them everyday

And even this will take lots of persistence.

Put low fences around any deer feeders you have or better yet, remove them all for a month or so and hope they move to the neighbors property.

But either way, it's a great source of meat for the freezer. It's a shame they tear so much crap up and reproduce like crazy. Otherwise, they would be a great animal to have around and selectively hunt.

Find a low area that holds water regularly and look for wallows. If you know where they are Bait them up. If you don't have one of those traps to drop Get you a big arse ball of Tanerite and hang it just above the Corn Get a very clean bottle of like an old mayonase fill it up and get back. shite gets real quick.

I've made them. Take a post hole digger and dig a narrow hole as deep as you want to go with it. Fill it with corn. But realize that that's the spot that they're going to dig a bomb crater.

I also made a toy for them that worked like a charm on the big boars. Take a piece of heavy sewer PVC pipe. It's probably six inch. Cut it about five feet long. Put a perforated barrier wall in it about 8 inches down to create a chamber where you put rocks and attractant. Cap that with a screw cap. Put 3/8" holes about ever 8 inches all around the circumference of the rest of it so that there's always a hole on the ground. Put a screw cap on that end along with a heavy round eyelet through the end of it that's got heavy washers on it so that it can turn easily and not get bound up.

Pound a piece of rebar in the ground and get a big piece of rope that you attach a rotating snap clip on each of. One end is the hog toy. The other end is a big metal ring that you drop over the rebar.

They'll come work that thing every night for hours. Even when it's empty because they smell the attractant and hear the rocks in that chamber. They'll turn that spot into a crop circle pretty fast rooting that pipe around hoping for some corn to fall out.

Between that, the corn holes, and the rub as mentioned above, you've got hog Disneyland.

Easy solution, sit in stands with night vision or even easier, get the green motion detection lights and mount on the feeders.

Either stop feeding them or trap them

You can go out and shoot some at night it’s fun but you aren’t doing anything to the population because a whole bunch are going to get away and go frick and have more babies

Don’t just put out a trap and hope for the best. Get a good idea of how many you have with cameras and strategically trap them

This is the only answer if you actually want to get rid of them. You will never be able to shoot the whole group from stands.

Once you’ve accepted you will only make a small dent in them by shooting, target the large females as the young ones sometimes stick around after she is dropped and give you more shots. If the female has a young litter (size of rabbits), the babies will come back to the mom once she’s been killed. You can mop up the babies with small arms.

I’ve used bait holes but have found a sack of bran to be so much better and just as effective.
