Interesting how much his videos have improved over the years but maintain the same 'feel.'

I love his vids, the way he presents each piece is perfect. I usually search his vids if I'm looking to buy a new addition to see what he has to say.

I noticed that when the video had such smoothness. I think this is referred to as "refresh rate"?

I like what he has to say as well. In earlier videos, he wasn't very critical of certain shortcomings of guns and that got a bit old. But in recent videos, he's been more critical of the bad parts of guns. That's the kind of stuff I like to hear because all gun magazines do is worship every product. It's rare that a gun has every single piece of the puzzle down in spades.

But all in all, I'm a Hickok fan. Been watching his stuff for years.

Bap - I've seen him fawn over guns, but the great thing about Hickok is that he can shoot the eyes out of anything. So, it really is the shooter and not the weapon (just like with golf and a bunch of other activities that are equipment driven).

Nutnfancy is reasonably balanced, but honestly, both guys are too passionate about guns to be truly objective. Of the 2, Hickok shoots more than he talks, at least the ones I've seen.

I will agree 100% here. Doesn't seem to matter at all what it is.

This is somewhat subjective but there are still clear cut losers and winners in terms of gun parts.

I would say Nutnfancy is the most honest reviewer of all of them. If he doesn't like something, he is quite frank. Sometimes it may not be warranted but most of the time it is.

I think he pays for all the weapons so it helps that it's his money. He has ammo sponsors though...I think.

His reviews get really long, I can do without the philosophy of use part. But he's usually who I watch for a review. I'll watch hickok as well but mostly because I think he's funny.

I will say, the way he does reviews has influenced the way I evaluate firearms - that's the highest compliment someone can pay to a reviewer, I guess, even if I don't always agree with his conclusions.

And, he's a pretty good shot, too, FWIW.

The POU discussion doesn't bug me the most. It's the first 10 minutes of every video that he explains that he's honest and no one pays him for a review. He goes on for 10 minutes about truth. I know dude, that's why I'm here!

I do agree Ace. That's what I've tried to do with my recent reviews. When someone has nothing at all bad to say about a product, usually that person has someone filling his or her pockets. When you put your own money into it, it frees you up to be honest. That's why I gave such a lukewarm review on my ACR. It was $1500 of my own money and hurt me to give it a negative review but it was the truth. It's not a popular opinion (lot of dislikes) but I'm saying stuff that no other reviewer wants to say. The gun just isn't that great and is cheap in a lot of areas.

It's definitely a disappointment. I don't like the SCAR in 556 much either but I think I'm alone in that.

At least that rifle had an FN-quality barrel. It was surely better than the Bushmaster barrel on my old rifle.
