Bought a dewalt yesterday. I am satisfied after the first cut, but I cant say much about longevity. I can say it is a lot lighter than my neighbors.

I use the Dewalt since I use that brand of tools. It's pretty legit. I'm sure they are all pretty good now. I would buy whatever brand you have batteries for.

I have the ego one piece shaft carbon fiber trimmer. It is great. Don't get the split shafts, the weak point is the folding connector and the only benefit to them is they are cheaper to ship...

ignore what most brands will say about their battery life, its all BS

on average, each battery will last 20-30 minutes at most if constantly cutting.

i got the ryobi 40v and i love it, plenty of power, works a full 30 ninutes on fully charged battery and the battery will fully recharge in about 45 minutes. i bought it 3 years ago and i would buy it again.

the only negative with it is, the batteries cost $100 to replace and yet when i bought it, the whole weed eater cost $150.

most all of the cordless weed eaters are like that, they make all their money on the replacement battery costs.

If you live in a subdivision, any of the good brands will do. If you live in the country, don't even consider battery powered.

Just pick a brand and stick with it.

Dewalt seems to have everything but if you already started with ego then I’d stay with their line of tools

I would go with whatever you already have to have all the same batteries.

I have 4 pieces of EGO. No complaints for residential use.

Between my personal and our work battery powered equipment, we have eleventy billion battery powered Milwaukee tools. I don't plan on buying anything else. We use the tools regular and work them pretty hard and we've never had even a single battery go out, much less a tool.

One of the few electric things I can't get behind is a weedeater but my brother has the Milwaukee and loves it. I just don't like the trigger response on a electric weedeater.

All that love about Milwaukee being said, you can't go wrong with Stihl lawn equipment. It's as good as it get with gas powered, I can't see their battery powered being any different other than the weight.

I have the 40v Ryobi also. Works with my other Ryobi attachments. Bought a blower for $150 ish mainly for the second battery. Amazon has some that should work in the s40ish range.

i bought the weed eater & leaf blower set for $150, so i thought i had 2 batteries, but it only came with one battery you share for both. first battery lasted a year, second battery lasted 2 years, so thats not bad for rechargeable batteries.

I have the Dewalt because I already had other Dewalt 20v stuff.

And because trying to teach a woman, even a pretty intelligent woman, how to crank a 2 stroke that gets used 6 times a year is an exercise in “frick this”.

Worx weedeater blower combo for $150 5 years ago. Not a single problem with it, and can get my entire yard, fence line completed. It does take a 2nd battery to edge though.

I have the Ego with the Line IQ. There's a learning curve but no more bumping to advance the line.

Ego, but really choose an ecosystem and stay with it.
