For those who don't know, Henry has started selling the big boy rifle with a steel frame and round barrel. I am now taking donations to finance myself one in .357 mag and one in .44 mag

Make all checks payable to cash and send them over. Thanks

Me too. They are beautiful rifles. I like them both. Guess I'll eventually have to get one of each, brass and steel.

It's so heavy and too pretty to use.

The steel is much more practical. You can put a scope base on it too.

I wonder what the effective range of the .357 is? I would imagine that you can also shoot .38?

.357 gains a considerable boost in a much longer barrel, almost doubles the energy it can deliver vs coming out of a revolver. Inside of 100yds with a good .357 load you should be about even against a modest 30-30 load.

Sounds perfect for shooting random shite at the camp. No need for a scope and the steel wont mind being thrown on the floorboard. hmmm

It's definitely a camp/ranch gun.

Buffalo bore and double tap have .357 loads that get close to .30-30 performance out of rifle barrels. I don't think I'd want to use it as my main deer rifle or anything but it's probably the ultimate truck/tractor/horse/four wheeler rifle for general shite shooting.

I have a strong want.

Should have bought some .22lr and resold it over the past year...you could have bought both and one more of each for good measure
