Help with Water Well Pump

posted this on OT, who knows what responses I'll get.
My folks have a water well (no access to "city water"), and the seal on the pump (Red Jacket brand) is leaking bad. Anyone have a lead on where I can find repair parts? I've got a few names from the yellow pages, but asking around can't hurt.
TIA for your help.

Have you seen the seal? what type is it? if it is a gasket type, you can make it yourself, if it an o-ring, you can find one almost any parts store or hardware store. of course well supply or pool supply stores would probably also have one that will work

Check Tractor Supply. They carry some water well pumps, tanks and such.

Yes, also related to Costalotium.
An old college professor's favorite term for the perfect conductor/insulator/etc. was "unobtanium" - back in the '70's.
Then James Cameron stole it for Avatar.

According to my dad it's a rotatingt mechanical seal (ceramic face, spring loaded).
Pump is 40 years old, which makes the search more fun.

Thanks, but this pump is past obsolete. Installed in 1974 IIRC.
