Okay I'm trying to keep it around $1500 before scope. Mostly shooting paper 25yds indoors and 50-100yds outdoor.

$1400
1)a DDM4v11 complete uppper(940) + PSA lower(170). Then a Geiselle trigger 250.

$1550
2)a complete off the shelf DDM4v11

~$1400
3)16" BCM + 15"KMR alpha raile + PSA lower + trigger

I know with option 2 I will end up upgrading the trigger then that will land me at $1800.

Thoughts??

You don't have to spend that much for the gun's usage. Start smaller and upgrade as you go

ETA: A good trigger is worth the money spent

1st AR?

Unless your vision is bad, you don't need anything other than iron sights at those distances.

1st AR.

Open sight is doable at 25yds with a rifle, but my vision is terrible beyond 50+yds.

I dont intend on spending a whole lot on a scope, maybe 300 or so max.

Keep it simple to start off, then.

Just a solid scope mount & scope, USGI sling for a few dollars, spare parts kit, cleaning kit, mags & ammo.

20 Round USGI mags are very convenient for the range.

I would choose with option 2. Mostly because it is a 1 manufacturer gun. The others are mixed upper -lowers (I know that doesn't mean it perform worse)

I too am currently in the market for a new AR. I've got my eye on a LMT QCB MRP Pistons 16", found it for $1528 MSRP is @$2200.

Or I'm going to build using a matched upper/ lower from either Wilson Combat or Mega Arms l. Midlenght 18" 1-8 barrel (not sure which manufacturer) Get a good drop in trigger. Good bolt carrier group and the rest. Mostly spend more on the barrel, trigger, upper-lower then try to save on the restime with an end result of a damn fine AR under $2k.

Best trigger that's not $200+. I've had several Geisseles and love them but I'm building a cheaper AR with iron sights to just keep on the Ranger for hogs, etc while riding around and I can't stand a really heavy trigger.

Carson sold me a grey daniel off the shelf at bowie.
Threw on a aimpoint pro and a sling (QD) from SIGstore, is easily my favorite full size rifle.
Thing is light, and shoots flat and accurate.

Another vote for option B.

But play with a V7 first. I really dig the new mlok handguard.

Wish I would have waited for the V7SLW

Noveske Rogue Hunter will start you off right.
Check primary arms they have a sale going on right now that will get you close to that price range.

Ok I'm leaning heavily towards the complete DDm4v11 now.

Looks like a lot of DD rifles are on backorder.

For less expensive triggers, I have four Larue two stage triggers. They are $125 if you can wait, and you don't know when you order when you'll get them. $200 I think for quick delivery. Once I had to be patient for about 4 months, and another time got them in two weeks. Read their website for delivery details. They are worth waiting for IMO at that price.

My first ar was a DD v5lw and I think the other was the v7 smooth round HG I don't see it listed anymore. I got rid of the v7 and kept the v5lw. I'd love to swap that for a slw in that brown color

I'd go option 2

Disagree. The Ruger Elite 452 trigger has been really nice.

The original V7 used their MFR rail which was apparently before its time because MLOK is basically the same thing lol.

The new V7 is mlok.

Rock river 2 stage is a great trigger for around $100 for the whole parts kit. It's not geissle good but a good beginner trigger
