Looking for compact Bino's as well as a Range Finder-suggestions appreciated! The Bino's I want lightweight small and compact-I had a pair of Simmons and dropped them. Looking for alternatives.

Are you going for value or is price not important? Will the Bino's be used for mountain hunting or thick woods?
I have a Vortex Ranger 1000 and it is superb. It was an upgrade over a Bushnell Bone Collector model the angle compensation is the main feature along with Vortex's liftime warranty. If looking for a better price, Nikon just released the Arrow I.D. with angle compensation and the early reviews sound promising.
For Bino's, I used a pair of Vortex Diamondback 10x42's and they exceeded my expectations on an elk hunt in Colorado a few wks ago. For the money, I dont think you can get a better pair, but they are not compact, however Vortex does make the Diamondback model in 8x42 that are 4.50" long. If you can spend more, the Viper HD 8x42's are very nice and will be an eventual upgrade for me.
