Well gonna break down and start BOW hunting. Looking for a good bow maybe around $1,000 or in that area. Something light and fast with good break away. Also I'm located in Avoyelles parish if you could point me towards a good dealer! TIA!!!

I got better value out of a one year old used Matthews bow that was fully outfitted for 800.
I figured I wanted the best but didn't want to shell out 1500 to get one done right. If I like bow hunting I'll buy a new one in a few years.

Nothing any of us say matters. Bows aren't like guns and you need to get one that feels right to you. I was in your same position a few years ago and, I went into my local shop ready to drop $1500 on a Hoyt and ended up leaving with a Bowtech after shooting different bows. That's the only way you'll really get your money's worth, IMO. Find a shop near you with an archery range and start shooting.

... find a good local shop and see what they have used. You'll need their advice on draw weights and lengths at a very minimum, plus in getting it setup right for you. And it's real good to have a relationship with a local shop. Otherwise you're likely to spend a bunch of money gaining enough first hand information before ending up with what you really want. Plus when you need that local shop (which u will) you'll have a relationship going.
And then you can resell it get those accessories you'd never ever paid for up front (w/the first bow). This is one sport where it just doesn't help to have a tailored fit - it's mandatory to do very well.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I went to the store today and tried out a few different bows (Hoyt, Matthews, Prime, and PSE) mostly new models. I ended up getting a PSE Inertia! Felt smooth and comfortable from the time I laid my hands on it and it was the last one I shot. I shot 5 different bows before the guy brought it in for me to try. They helped me get it all rigged out with everything from broadhead to a release! Glad I didn't take someone's word and settle for a reputable brand rather than one that I feel is comfortable.

Yep just like that. Decked it out with (IQ sights, 3/16 peep sight, QAD drop away rest, fuse quiver, PSE stabilizer, 6 gold tip 400 arrows, Scott little goose release and a pack of 2" grim reaper broadheads) all together $1200
