I've been a member of a lease for my second year now. I scouted all spring and found a pretty secluded area in a section of older stripped pines bordering a creek bottom. They must have stripped it a couple of years ago and the briars and underbrush are 10' tall and thick as hell. The deer are traveling all through it and bedding in it surely. I set up a box in the corner and cut me some lanes through the strips at least 200yds in two directions. Another hunter on my lease with a stand near mine just called me to say the timber company came through with some heavy equipment and drove through the strips and probably sprayed the underbrush. Did that just ruin my stand for this season? I had been getting some nice deer on camera at my feeder before this. Season doesn't start till around Thanksgiving with a late rut on our club. Hopefully they will come back and travel this area, but this definitely hurt my stand for this season.

Definitely. You should just let someone like me sit in your stand this season to keep it secure. When does rifle season open in your area?

Maybe this guy is just trying to keep you off of something he's seen in the area.

That underbrush is about to die anyway once we get a frost. Don't know why it would matter if they sprayed it..

You don’t have anything to worry about, the underbrush will kill off after a freeze anyway.

I wasn't worried about the spray as much as them running heavy equipment down all the lanes and tramping down the briars and underbrush. I haven't been to my stand yet, maybe I can actually see further now. Pissed that I did all that work to begin with for them to come knock down and spray me some more shooting lanes

Negative. They'll be back in there very quickly.

Deer are curious about unusual activity. We just dug a 2 acre pond at our place and thinned 65 acres. Every day around the equipment you would see tracks.
