Here’s another one an Obe’r took a video 10 minutes later. I think between the 2 of us we saw 9 bulls.

Here’s a few good deer we have seen the last two days but they need another year or two. I’d rather hunt pre rut and post rut rather than the rut and I think we are here during the rut. I’ll be here until Saturday then home for Christmas then back at the ranch for a week.

I just moved to Houston 2 weeks ago from Baton Rouge. Living in an Air BNB until my house in BR sells.

I’ve got a buddy from BR who now lives in Houston and he comes with me most of the time.

The spot in hunt in South Texas isn’t far from you IRRC. There have been at least 3 Nilgai spotted in the past couple of months, a bull and two cows. Theory is the wildfires caused them to move further inland. Our rancher said they cannot take any sort of cold weather, but have thrived close to the coast. He urged us to shoot any we see, they are apparently Hell on fences.

They will bust a bottom strand on a fence real quick.

Its amazing that such a big animal can duck down and go under a fence like that with ease. Until you see it it's almost hard to believe. Spent alot of time on the Mariposa Ranch east of Falfurrias and saw many do that out there.
