Got off work a little early so I grabbed a pole, loaded up the bike and headed to The creek. I just rode my bike up and down the creek tossing a white beetle spin. Probably caught 20 bass before I lost my tackle. All they wanted was white, wouldn't hit anything else. Makes for a nice little evening.

Caught a few nice ones, they still aren't huge. But it sure is fun fishing those clear creeks. You can watch them go grab it.

U were on Darlington Creek?
Nice catch. I used to love wading a creek with the red dot white beetle spin. U won't ever starve with that

Nope.

I haven't been much this year with all the rain we have been getting, but it seems like the creek has a lot more deep holes in it than it usually does. The bass are stacked.

In-laws have land that borders Darlington Creek, close to the Amite. We ride our bikes down the creek to the Amite all the time. Definitely some pretty scenery round there.

Well y'all might be out neighbors. My buddies place is almost to the mouth. We used to go out there a bunch. We would ride up past the bridge no problem, but it's been a long time since we've done that, seems like there has been deep spots the last few years.

I love it out there, hardly anything I'd rather be doing than sitting in the river watching the water go by.

I bet we are. In-laws have about 400 acres there. Haven't fished it since last spring. You've given me a little motivation to go! Fish the creek by day, kill hogs by night

I think that's about the size of the place next door. Does it have a big bluff on the creek with a sand dune next to it? Hogs is right, they are in there pretty thick. How so y'all do on deer over there? We pretty much don't kill shite.

I heard there's going to be an OB fishing rodeo there this weekend. 100 guys all fishing on bicycles.

Wading shoes, baw. That's the only thing I've found to keep all the rocks and pebbles out. They look dumb, but once you've had to walk that thing with a shoe full of rocks, you'd be jelly.

Yeah, that's their land. We kill a few meat deer here and there, nothing to talk much about. Mrs Bootlegger's family has the hardware store there in the big city of Greensburg.

About the same with us. I thought I met someone from there who said it was their property and that they were from Monroe. Guess I was mistaken.

Anyhow, I'm always up for a trip out there. Next time you're that way, let me know.

Now that I'm looking at Google Earth, our land is a little more North than I was thinking, but I will be sure to get in touch with ya next time we head out there

Mung

Any type of open shoe where sand and pebbles can get in are not what you want out there. You can shake them out, but they will be right back the next step you take. I've tried everything. Those are from amazon, and they work really good for $30. The best I've tried are BITE brand and they were incredible, but they were expensive
