Is it common for a gun shop to reject your request to have them transfer your firearm from an internet purchase? I just had this happen this morning from a local business. I already made arrangements with another buisness that was more than happy to work with me, but is this common or is the first guy just a royal dick?

They're just jealous you saved money by not buying it through them... That or you look like a terrorist.

No. Never got that far into the conversation before he basically told me to take a hike.

The first time I did one like that I felt I was going to have an awkward situation because I didn't buy it through them. Turns out the guy was more than happy to facilitate the deal, and sent me off with a "Tell your friends!".

A dude (FFL) up here at one of the newer shops didn't want to accept a shotgun from an individual b/c, as the FFL said, the sending individual would have a copy of his FFL and could potentially use it??? Whatevs bro, I went to Willis Arms, that was the easiest $20 he made all day.

Was your internet purchase from an individual, or another FFL holder?

I feel like this pretty un-American. Would you mind telling us where this place is?

Seriously that has to be all profit for them to do a 20 dollar transfer. 100%profit margin. What else in the store is 100% margin?

Heberts declined

Spillway Sportsman was more than accommodating to handle it

Ive done business with Heberts many times in the past so that is why I chose them first.

There was a shop in Seattle that wanted to charge $50 for the transfer fee then if it was something they had in stock or could locate for you they charged an additional 10%.

I said F that and found a guy in the neighborhood over from mine that did transfers from his house for $20.

they just charge out the arse to do a transfer. That is why they are so happy to do it. Should of used Sulzer

ETA: unless Spillway reduced what they charge in the last year.

I got charged $50 to transfer a $300 item. That FFL is getting his money out of that 5 minute transaction.
