Gun safe issues/help

I have a liberty 36 gun safe. Its spin dial combo not electronic...It is flush in the wall so id rather not take it out and replace. Ive had it for prob 15yrs. Well this past week i could NOT get into it. I know the code. Just could not get into it. Calld lock smith, he said 450-650 to come drill it out shite i paid that for the safe. Anyway tried another day, and finally after an hr, it unlocked like normal... Obviously i think the pins or bearings or whatever inside may be ceasing up. Locksmith told me "$275 he can come do maintenence on it" lolol. Anyone had these issues before, or have any suggestions to help fix it, or how to oil it or something outside of calling dam locksmith.

Call Liberty and let them know what is going on and ask how it can be fixed. They will most likely walk you through it and may send you any parts free of charge.

YouTube can probably help you.

Yes, take guns out of safe and put on wall, behind doors, in drawers, in your vehicle, in a gun rack, etc.

Call Liberty
If you don’t plan on replacing bc of how it’s installed, then I’d pay the locksmith to come do maintenance.

I also recommend this, by the way, what is your address? I may know a guy near you that could help.

I have a cannon safe that the solenoid pin wasn't extending all the way so you could force the handle to open it, called them (well online chat) sent some pictures of the mechanism and they said they will send me all new parts and instructions on how to replace it. Never asked me when or where I bought it. I did have to provide the SN # so they know what and how old it is. This safe was bought in 2010.
All free just took me about 30 minutes of chatting.

I have a Liberty safe and replaced the original dial with an electronic pad from S&G. The electronic lock went bad, and S&G sent a local locksmith to drill into it and replace the lock. They swore me to secrecy and emailed me the map of where to drill (to give to the locksmith), and it still took the locksmith several hours to get in. He was impressed by the safe. The replacement S&G is still working many years later.

I had a similar issue. The door handle part had gotten loose. I removed the inside cover and tightened up. Lubed it up while I was in there.

I always Tap the dial when I get to the numbers to open it.
Seems to help the Pins fall into place

should be an access plate/ panel on the back to oil or there should be a hole on the bottom to spray some lubricant in there. But i would try something like that or at least see so you dont have to spend the money on locksmith.
