Grand Isle report 6/22

I didn't fair to well yesterday morning on the breaches with one of my party getting sea sick. So headed to a protected reef in Leeville this morning. Boated a mix box of about 40 trout/white trout and 2 reds. All under a popping corks. Had to have something pink weather it was a grub or H2O shrimp it had to have pink.

If you are surf fishing the evening bite is starting earlier than normal. Be out there for 4:00 or 5:00 at the latest. We hammered the big trout in the surf this evening. 47 between 2 of us. They wanted swimming hard baits like a mirrolure mirrordine or the vudu mullet. Didn't want soft plastics. Look for schools of mullet and the trout were usually hanging around them.

All artificial with no live bait used.
