Does anyone know if they are catching any crabs at Gand Isle state Park now? Thinking about taking the kids down this weekend.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It could have changed by now but when I was there the last weekend of June everyone I talked to that were crabbing mostly said they caught none with the exception of a couple people who still only caught a few.

We went last weekend and caught five total. They just aren't really there yet.

Thanks for the responses. Guess we will wait until the reports get better.

Not a good weekend to bring the kids to Grand Isle, this weekend is the Tarpon Rodeo...

I forgot about the tarpon rodeo, it will probably be a mess down there.

Slidell. I know the spot off Old Spanish Trail by Salt bayou road where everyone goes crabbing but its usually packed on the weekends. We were just looking to get out of town.

I assume if they arent catching any in Grand Isle it would be the same for Elmer's, no?

I have always had success on Elmer's Island, and they seem to run best during the first 2 weeks of August.
most likely, but if I wanted to just get out of town for the weekend and go to GI that is where I would try first.

The first weekend in August is when you should make a trip. Elmer's Island or Fourchon is just as good as Grand Isle.

Not anymore unless people the other day were doing it illegally
