When I go to load, the nose of the boat is too far down and I can't get the winch to pull it over the rollers. Whatever u call the mount, should it be pushed back or forwards ? And the trailer is way into the water.
Thx

Pull trailer up a little and the nose should pop up

Back trailer farther into water, that will help the boat nose angle when driving on trailer.
Should drive on until winch hook hits the rollers.

I appreciate the mature responses in this bd vs the OT bd.

You may need to adjust the boards under the boat. You can loosen the brackets and push the front of the boards up. This will lift the front of the boat when you drive it up.

I had to do the same thing to mine.

From the beginning, we've tried to adhere to this. We self-police this place and try to keep content on the up-and-up.

You are backing too far into the water.

Just got this boat. Never had problems with my other.
Launched at Manchac twice. No problems.

Maybe, but if my nose was coming under the rollers, I want more water under me to drive all the way over and to the runners. He shouldn't have to be winching, at all.

I had this problem with my old trailer on a few ramps. Not backing in as much was the ticket. I just had to winch it in

Then how the hell did Bossier slip through?

This was my problem. The angle of the ramp caused the front of the trailer to be too high relative to the trailer wheels. As a result, the boat was barely resting on the runners when the nose of the boat was at the front of the trailer.

Now I don't back up as far and the boats rests on the runners before reaching the front of the trailer. I use the motor to push the boat further up the runners.

I was at a lake/reservoir in Northwest Louisiana and not the marsh or bayous along the gulf coast. I'm sure there are some nuanced differences based on the angle of the ramp you are using.

Pull trailer up a little. Trim motor up considerably. When you give it a little throttle the engine will push the back down a bit while bringing the nose up. Not sure which boat you're loading, but my technique works well on a 21' Nitro.

There is usually a small roller between the boards and the winch to kick the front end of the boat up into the proper position to hit the winch stop. sounds like yours is either missing or needs adjusting.

That's great to hear. Anytime I have a question I will always ask it on this board and always get mature responses - it's appreciated

I've never had this problem. I can't help but I'm glad the bros on this board didn't act like jackasses and actually gave good info.

Kudos OB.

Also, look at what the boat does at launch.

A nose dive at launch would creep me out and I'd try to fix the problem right then and there.

The guide I usually go by is you want the top of your trailer tire barely out of the water
