To make a long story short, the shield was stolen and later recovered in bad condition. I was close to just writing it off but took it to see if it was salvageable. After sandblasting most of the rust away, it didnt seem to have much pitting so he was able to do a damned good job with the finished product.

The other gun is a Silver Mallard that I've had since about 2000 or so. It was in decent shape but definitely had some mileage on it, so I decided to give it a custom look.

Both were done by Green Dragon guns in Watson, and I will definitely recommend him to others.

I wish I was better at taking photos, but these should give you a good idea.

Its typically 180 per gun I believe, but I paid a little more because of the extensive damage to the 9mm

Thw S&W looks great. Looks like the thief used it as a fishing weight.

Just to add...

The S&W is an OD green color and the shotgun is burnt bronze

I looked at there site and I couldn't quite figure out there pricing for pistols, it says if you want to get the slide coated its 55, and if you want to get the frame coated its another 55. But then it says for a whole gun together it is 145..so what is it?

Subtle inclusion of the foot, barely noticed.

I wouldn't have done that to my silver mallard

It looks great but I cringe doing that to a gun with inlay and wood stock

The shield took an amazing transformation. Didn't see any before pictures of the Silver Mallard but both look good. Great job by whoever did them.

I didn't post any of the beretta before. It looked normal, just a few minor rust spots here and there

It didn't have any inlays or wood stock. It was all black

The shield was found outdoors and had been there for a month probably.

Cerakote is awesome, it definitely gave a new life to my SBEII. It was beat to shite and back and now looks brand new after being cerakoted 3 years ago.

How is it holding up after three years of abuse?

It's got some gouges back down to the original metal where I've hit it on barbed wire or pit blinds that have rusted but I figure if I can get another 5-6 years out of it I'll just cerakote it again.

I really thought the pitting on the shield would be bad. I figured it would be noticeable even after the coating, but you can only see it very slightly around the logo stamping on the slide.

The only part that was replaced was the extractor I believe.

I wouldn't mind replacing the takedown lever eventually. It's not in the best of shape.
