I'd like to get my son a compound bow for Christmas but don't want to break the bank. I'm thinking around $150 do any of you have any suggestions?

You know I never miss an opportunity to brake your balls.

I got my kid a Barnett vortex several years ago. We were pleased with the bow and it stayed with him until he upgraded when he was 13. Took it to chag's in metairie right away and let them tune, adjust, and upgrade it slightly with whatever they recommended. Would buy again. About to pass it on to my 8 year old now.

Thank you I will look into those. I do not shoot but did when I was a kid and wish I still did. Hopefully he will enjoy it.

With that budget, try the archery talk classifieds. Got my 12 year old daughter a parker buckshot with 2 different sets of limbs for a great price. Allowed her to start low and then we replaced the limbs as she got stronger. Can get gently used quality bows without breaking the bank.
