I need to bring mine in the kayak, but the head mount is uncomfortable and I don't know what else to do.

Suction cup it to the very front tip of the yak and point it backwards facing you or mount it to your landing net so you can move it around and stick it underwater.

The problem with that is that most of my casts/hookups aren't in front of the boat.

the chest mount aint too bad. it would probably give you a good view in the yak.

Attachments that come with the kit are crappy. We busted ours the first time we went skiing, then sledding. I've got to try to find something better. Put it on the kid's helmet and he had it gone 30 seconds into his first run.

They will probably work on the kayak, but the weather hasn't been good enough to break it out this year.

Me and my husband bought a GoPro 3 Black back in Feb for our honeymoon last March. We got great footage but the thing acted up on our trip. The remote wouldn't always sync with the camera and the whole camera froze completely we were white water rafting. It is cool watching the video but the camera itself is a huge PITA to deal with. Def not the most user-friendly camera. My husband still takes it on his mountainbike rides and has a love/hate relationship with the camera(one weekend he will tell me to sell the thing, next weekend he's asking for me to edit footage).

We still have footage I haven't even begun to edit.

I say if you have the money and do enough active stuff, it's cool. We have videos from our honeymoon that I'll forever cherish(NOT THOSE KINDS OF VIDEOS )

If you are buying one for a trip...buy it a couple months before so you are more familiar with how the camera works before your trip.

ETA: Here is the only video I have from it on youtube

Just bought my boyfriend one for his birthday. He loves it! We will both use it, for SCUBA diving, snowboarding, fishing, and hunting (hunting I do not tag along for, I might add ). It's been awesome so far. Totally worth it, IMO. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, it's a no-brainer

I've got the silver one I carry with me, doesn't zoom so filming birds sucks. Gun mount misses a ton, strapped on head starts to bother me too. I'm going to mount it looking over back of boat and just let it go. I have 4 chips full, that I've never got around to edit. Make sure your lens is clean, shot an awesome hunt last season, 24 birds less than 2 hrs with streak of mud I dripped on it when I changed out chip. And it was one of those epic hunts, flight after flight of greys dropping in.

It was scary as hell, but so much fun at the same time.

I'll post the video taken from him actually doing the zipline from his helmet once I move it to YouTube
