If buying a polymer and it's between one of these two which would you go with? Thinking .45 if it makes a difference.

I agree ^^. I have a XDM and I love it. People with Glocks will tell you the same. Go hold or shoot both. Buy what feels best.

Go hold

I vote glock. Easier to take apart. When society decays sooner or later there will be more spare parts to be had.

what?
glock:
pull back slide
pull down takedown locks
remove slide
remove barrel and recoil spring
springfield:
pull back slide
rotate takedown lever
remove slide
remove barrel and recoil spring

Get an M&P
If the trigger reset was as good as the Glock I would never own another Glock. The mp is the much better shooting weapon.
Never could get my follow-up shots the way I like them with it though.

personal preference, you really need to shoot both and then make a decision. both are fine guns
also whats the primary use?

the reset on the M&P is shorter. glock has more of an assisted reset, though i.e. it pushes harder. you have to let off of the M&P a little more

I have the m&p .45 and .380 bodyguard... absolutely love them both. .380 is for my fiancee but do enjoy shooting it.

I absolutely hate the feel of a. 45 Glock. The grip just feels huge. Now I know how small handed shooters feel.
The long barrel XDM is a tack driver of a pistol.

I have a G23. I just bought a 1911 as a carry and now want to go all .45. I have a guy that will trade straight up my 23 for a XDM 45. Was just curious what the OB thought.

That would be a good trade.

My other option being sell my 23 and buy another glock in .45. Mainly as a truck/nightstand gun.
