Anyone ever went Glamping ? Would you do it again.?

Would you bring your RV to a campground that only had water and power, with no sanitary disposal available (due to DEQ restrictions)?

I’m gonna open a campground near Baton Rouge and am weighing my options on alternatives. Will have 4/5 cabins already in place on 16 acres of river frontage.

People will be pulling grey nightly. I would have been able to hold black for maybe 3-4 days

Then where am I dumping 35 gallons of shite water on way home?

That’s why I’m asking. Obviously a no go for you. Thx though.

I may not do RV spots if I can’t put in a system and folks oppose that

It's not ideal. I've only done it once for a mud bog festival. Stopped by a Corps of Engineer campground and dumped there.

Put in a septic tank with a proper drain field and let your tenants dump their blackwater in there.

Will try. But located in a floodway. Per Parish rules which dictates a lot

Well if you have a dump station, sure.

would you have a black/grey water dump station?

you just need to install a tank onsite(one that doesn't drain onto the property) that campers can dump into and have a septic service come pump it out occasionally

Just have your guests use a walmarks sack like the old ladies in my hood do.

I always look for full hook ups. I don’t like dragging a poop wagon over to the dump station on longer stays. If you don’t have sewer hook ups at least have the dump station .

Good idea.
I don’t have a ditch to drain to. I’ll have to get a price estimate.

Your place would need to be in a nicer location and lower cost than alternatives with sewer.

I’ll stay in a spot without sewer if it’s a primo location. Dumping on way out isn’t an issue. Def a hassle if you have to go to a truck stop or rest area on way home to dump.

It’s nicer than most. But smaller then a typical campground. Very large sandbar with mature woods on a high bank overlooking the bar. But I understand not wanting to haul around waste. Done it myself before.

Willl have in place a butterfly garden. Moth sheeting at night. Walking trail to the river with a deck across a pond. Will have ID markers on all trees and plants.

You definitely need to have full hookups (water, electrical, dumping of grey water and black water at each lot).

Typically only older privately owned rv parks, state parks, national parks, and Corp of Engineer parks have limited hookups.

Do your research! Your daily rate per lot will be higher if you have full hookups. Also, higher end users will generally have greater expectations.
