I talked to another guy a few hours that fished GI today. He said the wind died down some around 10:30 and the fish turned on at 11AM. They had to leave them biting at 1:30.

I'm heading to the island tomorrow morning. Plan to yak Elmer's early and then move to the back of the island if the bite is slow.

I think the thing to do is to keep the yak in the truck and drive up and down the island until you find some action. You should be able to cast from the shore. You can drive a 2wd out there.
ETA: And you can launch anywhere on Elmers...its a beach.
