Getting dark water spots out of wood gun stock

I recently bought a used Remington 1100 for a steal. The gun is in perfect condition other than it has a dark spot on the stock that is caused by water trapped in the wood. Is there any way to get this out?
TIA

Buddy of mine had a similar issue. He built a vacuum chamber out of PVC pipe. Borrowed a buddy's HVAC vacuum pump and pulled a vacuum on the chamber. He had some formula for how long the wood has to stay in the chamber. Beauty of this method is you don't run the risk of warping or cracking like you would using heat. Downside was the cost of building the chamber. I think he said it cost him around $40.
