Looking for new shoes for my daily driver Tacoma. I've narrowed it down to these two. I've done a lot of research, but so much is subjective and not side-by-side. Does anyone have any experience with these tires?

I'm honestly leaning towards the Kumho at this point, but not much.

Just realized I posted this on the OT instead of the OB. Can I get a move, admins?

Check with 44wheelparts and you can sometimes get KO2s for cheaper than you can get the grabbers. I prefer them because they are lighter.

Firestone Destination AT. 50K+ on it. Still a ton of tread left...and it's better than those two. Many miles are highway and rides like a champ.

Got General Grabber AT2 on my Tundra a few months back. Due to their size (305/50R20), I had some bad experiences to start with since the installer decided to use balancing beads instead of weights. Once I got that corrected and lost the horrible vibration, they've been great. Can only compare to original tire of Michelin Latitude Tour HP which were horrible on anything wet. Tire shop did tell me they have trouble balancing General tires for what's its worth.

I'm looking at $130 per tire for the grabbers. If I could get KO2s for that, I'd be all over it.

Not too far away. They do discounts, rebates, and tax free.

Bring them to Costco for installation for 60 bucks.

The grabbers are good tires. Ran them on a small 4x4 for 50k and showed basically zero wear.

Numerous sites actually rank the Kumho or General higher. The drawback with the Kumho for me is it's a newer tire without as much mileage tested.

How was the ride and road noise?

Buy the lighter tire.

Seriously.

I've got 31x10x15s Iron NDs on my buggy at the moment and they are killing my mileage.

Grabber AT2s are whisper quiet

General's, good tread depth, good wear, good cleanout, and a lighter tire for a solid AT.

Rando, are you talking about the General MT's? Because the AT2 is something like 8.5# lighter per tire than the K02.

I've heard the Kumhos are quiet, too. As for weight, it looks like the Kumho is 38 lbs and the Grabber is 39.3 lbs.

For the record, I'm talking P265/65R17

That's one big difference. Tread depth on the General is 16/32 to 13.1/32 for the Kumho.

Mine was as at home in the woods/fields/etc and highway. Great tire which I'll get again.

This is for the 265/65 R17, looks to be a pound or less difference.

I called them this morning. That's exactly what they told me.

The numbers I gave came straight from Kumho and General.

I have no clue why Kumhos is so far off, Metric to Imperial conversion?! On the General's the number I posted were actually higher, they show 39.3 for the OWL. I think you got lost tracking down the wall of numbers and jumped over to the max PSI instead of weight.

The weight varies a lot by rim size.

Sometimes kos are lighter. Sometimes the grabbers are.

Are the king is you are looking at LT tires?

Both of those weights seem a little low.
