Freezing catfish with the skin on

Does it hurt to do this?
I think someone borrowed my skinning pliers and didn't tell me.
I cut the heads off and cleaned the guts out of some catfish and then froze them in a ziplock bag with water in it.

Why not just put them on ice and get some skinning pliers tomorrow?

Just filet em like any other fish next time. Plus if you filet it gets rid of that silver stuff you leave behind when skinning
