For those that hunt out of a ladder

how high do you set up?
what's too low?
do you bow hunt out of it?

You can bow hunt out of them. I generally go 15-20 feet. Not impossible to bow hunt lower but they can see you easier the lower you are.

Most ladders are 15-20 range. Usually try to position it on a ridge looking down to gain as much height as possible.

I prefer a climber or lock-on for bow hunting though.

between ten and fifteen feet in my four ladder stands. quite a thrill to kill from a short ladder. also hunt using a millennium strap on seat. killed a six point doing that last year. it's all about the cover around you. i love magnolias and sweet gums for low stands.
