I need it to do 4 things:

1) Log weather/tide conditions & Track GPS position
2) Input bait/notes from trip
3) Extract/analyze historical data for patterns/trending
4) Share information socially (with family only - not the whole world)

Been searching around the interwebs all day. Seems like most do 1 or 2 of these well, but not all. Anything else out there you baws know about?

I keep a notebook. Granted it's only 2 years old for saltwater, but I try and snap a few pictures of some of my fish to create a time stamp. Which I can put further research into later to fine tune a spot for best tide times.

I also add baits that produced fish or strikes.

As far as gps locations, my iPhone can record that as well in picture settings. Which I manually add to my paper log.

Websites like tidesforfishing.com are great because you can backtrack to different dates and see what the tide times were as well as moon phases, weather, and those fabled projected best fishing times.

I find this website helps. National Data Buoy Center

Honestly, if you routinely fish the areas enough over the years then you probably got about all the data you need.

Even if it reports on historical data, that really doesn't help. The ONLY thing you will learn is fish do what they want. There will be days that "historically" you shouldn't catch shite and you tear them up and vice versa. I have one going on 14 years and the only thing it does for me is when I read about it I can actually remember the trip.
