I'll be heading to a buddy's camp on the Pearl for the long weekend. I've only been to this area a handful of times and never fished it. The winds look like they may keep us in the marsh. Anybody have any advice on fishing the marsh around the pearl and pearl WMA this time of year?

West Pearl? Go fish reds at the mouth of the river by the Rigolets.

Better off running lines for catfish river is rising and will be to much fresh water. Catfishing on the pearl is better than average

That whole area around the mouth, Rabbit Island, that small lake when you hang a left (Little Lake?) between the river and Lake Borgne...it all holds reds no matter how high the river is. When the river is high, you just go hit the little canals/ponds in the marsh. Fished it for 7-8 years and can count on one hand how many times I saw another boat fishing reds in that area. Never seemed to be affected much by salinity levels.

Thanks. I will be on the East Pearl. Hopefully the wind will die down a little. It's still saying 10-15 SSW.
