From my deer lease in Oklahoma. At first I thought the deer somehow impaled itself on the fence post, but upon further inspection it appears his head was cleanly removed and the deer was placed on the post

They're just shooting from the road

When we lived out in OK there was a property down the road that seemed to decorate their fence posts with dead game. We saw everything from deer, hogs, yotes, coons, possums, even some damn flathead catfish.
I thought I was weird. Then I moved to OK for 5 years.

SE OK near atoka. What kind of a piece of shite would shoot a deer from the road, lop his head off, and leave the rest for the scavengers. Louisiana may have a few red necks but it doesn't hold a candle to Oklahoma.

Seen a lot of flathead catfish heads hanging up on light poles and fences up north.. Must be a thing up ther

Probably more likely that the deer did impale himself and was dead. Then someone came along and cut the dead deers head off because it had a nice rack. That seems more likely to me.

I've got some family land near McAlester. I've heard they have some good deer. Just trying to find the time to get up there and get it set up.

It's possible, but think of how many hundreds or even thousands of times this deer has went under over or through a barbed wire fence. Every 20 or 40 acre tract has a fence around it for cattle. Since I've been hunting there I have seen numerous deer cross fences and it was never near a t post
