We can't hire good competent superintendents for commercial projects with a 75-85k base, vehicle allowance, excellent benefits, and unlimited job growth potential. A true lead project superintendent in this market has a 150k a year package with no end in sight.

I teach in a high school and their are retired policeman who teach Law Enforcement classes to high school students.

The classes seem fun to teach and we are only on our second teacher in 15 years so it must not be to terrible.

Just a thought.

A commercial superintendent doesn't have to be college degrees these days. They just have to be able to think about numerous things at all times while walking erect and placing their left foot in front of their right foot trying to get to the next destination, being technologically capable of being in the digital age, and able to communicate effectively to both internal and external clients.

The point to the OP is that there are numerous opportunities out there. Feliciana Tiger won't start at a 100K a year gig coming from the law encorcement profession, but 65k is not out of the relm of reality in this market. A good layout guy is 80-90k a year right now.

I am not sure the requirements for the education job, but the two teachers I have known were policeman before they worked in the schools. They retired from the force and the next year were teaching.

We do have an industrial construction division. It is basically building commercial buildings inside of an industrial setting. Safety is paramount there as well as everywhere else.

Email me if you are looking for something.

Id love to get my foot in the door somewhere. Won't have to be much to compete with what I make now and I've learned to put up with a lot of shite in this job.

Got it, thanks. It won't be for another couple months, playing out my current job but will most likely make a change come spring.
