External vacuum pool cleaner

I think my pool boy may have quit me before the deluge of leaves and pollen from my damn jungle of trees hits. They are protected 200 year old oak trees etc. so I may get a new job. Or better yet my son. been paying almost 200 a month so thinking about juts doing this myself since kids have not swam in it all year. Too cold they claim due to shade caused by trees
He used an external cleaning pump called a hammerhead or something. I can't just use the pool vaccuum to clean it as it gets clogged up so need a external pump to suck up leaves into a bag and recycle water or something. I am betting some of you Ober have built something to do this or have an idea.
I have a polaris but pump went out and never fixed it since I have pool boy once a week. Can replace for 150 bucks but the bag etc is just too small for my leaf problem. Any ideas appreciated. it is a 15x30 gunite pool about 10 foot deep

For heavy leaves I use a leaf vac which attaches to my garden hose. Leaf Vac I also have an Aquabot Pool Rover jet cleaner which I can throw in. It sucks leaves until it is full, then I empty it out and do it again. Works great. Keeps leaves out of the plumbing.

Thanks Tboy. Does the leaf vac attach to a suction hose or is it self powered? Never mind I see it. Thanks
