Do you do any type of hunting? You could use that dog for several things when it comes to hunting.
Squirrel dog, blood tracker, are a couple besides the obvious coon hound.

I go dove hunting with co-workers once or twice a season. That's about it.

Mine thinks he's part retard 
But yeah he's really smart most of the time so I don't doubt he'd catch on, especially if there's hot dog involved.
