Has anyone gotten a euro mount done on a deer in full velvet. Killed a nice 8 Saturday that I would like to get done, but didn’t know who to bring it to.

I have an Axis Euro in velvet. It’s my favorite mount.

How did you treat or preserve the velvet horns ? Did you inject with formaldehyde or velvet tan ? Soft velvet horns have veins with blood in them. They should be drained and then freeze dried. Would love to see pics of your trophy

I let a taxidermist do it. I didn’t want to screw it up. I believe it was “dipped” in something. Feels and looks just like it did the day I killed it.

Upload to Imgur. Click view. Long hold on the pic (if mobile) and "copy Url". Then paste that in the img tab to the right (again, if on mobile, not sure what it looks like on desktop).

I let my euro guy do it. Apparently you have to dry it some how then take a syringe and inject it with something to preserve it

thanks. It sucks that i don't have any better pics, but i had to cut the head off in the woods, to keep from messing up the velvet.
