If the wind is blowing out of the south, how much is too much?

I've fished Elmers a lot. Ideally you want wind to be in the single digits if it's out of the South. The less the better. 15mph and higher out of the south will put some pretty big waves on the beach. Ive caught trout in the surf when I was having to jump to catch waves across my neck but that's no fun. Check windalert.com....they have a wave predictor that will at least give you an idea of what you'll be dealing with.

We don't get it much in the summertime, but I love a light north wind when fishing the beaches.

Yeah, a North wind does a great job of knocking those waves down.
