Tomorrow I'm taking my little nephew and brother in law fishing out of our camp down 4 point road. They are in town visiting from TN. I haven't been fishing much in the last few years so I'm not sure what to do. Was thinking of trying the marsh around Bay Antoine and Bayou Go-To-Hell. Are the fish inside now? Should I focus in the bays or the marsh? Anybody been catching? I'm not looking for exact spots just a little point in the right direction. Thanks for any pointers. I'll post a report after the trip.

The trout should be showing up in the bays and the reds/drum will be in the deep holes.

People were catching limits of trout in Petit Caillou on Saturday. Should be the same for Grand Caillou.

You're going to have a nice warm day tomorrow. If the water is clear I bet the Lake Pelto rigs and Sulphur Mine would be a good place to try.

The southern lakes and bays should have birds diving this time of the year. Go out to mangrove bay and places like that and fish the birds.

On Saturday and Sunday, I fished Deer Bay, Bay antoine, Wax bayou areas in very windy conditions. We did OK. never saw birds working but bait was everywhere. Just never got on a bite.
If the weather is good and warm, I'm always going to the outer bays as Trout Bandit said. the bigger fish are there. But if you want to catch schoolies and save on gas, there are fish to be had inside.

MB,
When y'all see schools of bait like that, and no birds working the area, do y'all ever throw a cast net for some live and fish with it?

Off their docks in the main bayou?

In the main bayou but on the eastern side. We drove all over the marsh on Saturday trying to find some deeper holes that were out of the wind. Didn't have much luck. Get back to the dock and some dude tells us he caught a limit right across the bayou. I went to fish in Fourchon on Sunday but my dad stayed in Chauvin and did that. Caught a limit.

Yes. We didn't have a cast net on my buddy's new boat, but we did have some live in the well. There was so much live shrimp in the water, I guess they were full?? I'm baffled this year on the fish. Learning all over again it seems.

We ended up fishing birds and finished with 11 keeper trout and threw back 20-30 small trout. We fished Mangrove Bay and Bay Du Mongles. The fish completely shut off around 10:00 and my nephew was getting bored so we headed back shortly thereafter. Thanks again for all the replies.
