Looks like Duckett just rolled out a slightly more tuned up version of the Ghost. Not a big fan of the cosmetic changes (carbon fiber ) but I handled the 6'10 medium at academy yesterday and came real close to taking it home. Light as a feather and seemed very balanced, seemed tailor made for light texas rigs. The 7'4 heavy was also very light in the hand and balanced.

Anyone pulled the trigger on these yet?

Not yet, but I'm not really in need of another rod at the moment.

I have a 7'6" Heavy Micro Magic that I use for throwing A-rigs and football jigs. Fantastic rod. If this is more like the Ghost, I think I'll wait to see if they have any issues. Many people have had problems with the Ghost rods breaking.

I have two micro magics and 5 ghosts, and you can definitely tell the difference in quality between the two. I've had problems with the eyes coming out on the ones I've had for a few years. I've only broken one, though. I use one for my frog rod, with 65 pound braid and jerkin the shite out of em and it's held up good.

This site is having a sale on a bunch of Duckett rods, including the White Ices

I've read about the Ghost having some quality issues but bought one anyway. 2 fishing trips and the tip snapped off. I returned it and got the Micro Magic. Definitely a better rod. I've used plenty of my brothers micro magics and white ice rods and they are great.

I don't mind the carbon fiber look. If the triads have better quality control I might eventually get a couple. I like the price point.

The ghost guides were some one piece dohickey with no insert, and people complained that braid would eventually eat away at it. This new rod uses inserts, so it looks like they might be responding to the feedback on certain spots. I haven't had any issues out of my ghosts but I baby all my rods.
