Looking for a new lease or club for next year, in a club now but getting tired of location and people. Looking for a change of scenery, any suggestions on where to look.

I'm ready for a lease as well. One weekend into this season and I'm already tired of public hunting. First thing I'm doing once I graduate and get a job is locating a lease.

Sounds like an OB lease. Has real potential for bragging threads.

Hunt a public lake in beaurguard parish.

I'd be down for marsh or timber. Anything south of I10. Still waiting to hear from several jobs, dunno where I'ma be this time next year.

I lucked into a lease this year out of Monticello, MS just on the Pearl River for deer, turkey, and ducks. I'm going to duck hunt later in the season when the water comes up a have a few deer in the freezer.

Similar situation, I've always just hunted with people on their leases. How do you even go about beginning to find a lease?

I've always wondered what people saw in rice field leases south of I-10. I don't think I've ever had a successful south LA hunt unless it was in the marsh. Kaplan, Gueydan, etc. are good for a few teal and some specklebellies, but it seems like mallards are few and far between in the rice fields down there. Now fields in East Central and NE LA are totally different and I've pounded the mallards in the Mer Rouge area before, and had a lease in that area for a long time. A buddy of mine's family owns a great marsh club and I have seen why the marsh is so good and so coveted, but again have never had success other than a few teal and spoonies or some geese in Kaplan, Gueydan, Welsh, etc.

Yeah. There are 3 of us in a 3 bedroom camp with full kitchen and bathroom. The camp leaves a lot to be desired, but one of the members is getting out this year and myself and the other fella are going to put some money into it and make it much better. We have 800 acres between the 3 of us.

There are plenty of good rice field blinds in south LA, they are just way more expensive because on the convenience of not having to go in the marsh. I have a friend that leases a rice field blind in Gueydan and they killed 14 pintail, 11 mallards, grey ducks, and 6 geese on opening morning. That blind runs 12k a year though.
