I know this has been asked before, but what’s the boards favorite way to get rid of dogs on your property. They’ve ruined my hunting season this year and I want to make sure this isn’t on going next year. It appears one has babies with it now, according to this mornings photo of my food plot. They have collars but not GPS collars…
Dogs in question

Update:
A couple days after posting this, my neighbor reached out to me as a Great Dane and husky got into their chicken run and made chicken soup out of 6 of their 28 chickens. I’d fugg with a lot of people before the chicken lady. She called sheriff as well as animal control. This was Monday. She called them again wednesday livid cause they hadn’t done anything. I provided her over a dozen photos of the dogs that were in the property. She must’ve laid into them. Thursday the sheriff located the owner of the husky and Great Dane. The POS owner said their electric collar batteries died and they got out; but that the husky knows how to disable the collar anyways so she decided to surrender the husky to animal control. Sheriff always issued a ticket to the owner of the dogs in the post. I was told every time I call animal control with a new picture of their dogs on my property from here on out the owner will be issued a ticket due to county leash laws. Time to drain their pockets…

Don't be an a-hole.

Just mix a pack of raw beef with carolina reaper powder.

They will never come near the area again.

Spices(hot)will kill a dog...it causes acute pancreatitis...probably why you never saw them again

just catch the dogs and bring them to a far away no kill animal shelter

Someone tell my dog.

Because his two favorite things are salsa and whiskey.

A quick google says bullshite. The concentration required for toxicity in a canine is unreal.

They’ll eventually leave your property on their own…..

Salsa isnt a lot of spice...We lost a 12 yo lab 4 yrs ago to acute pancreatitis...attributed to the dog eating some meat that was overseasoned with a hot cayenne blend...that was vets only diagnosis...I wouldnt purposely feed a dog reaper, habanero and feel I didnt hurt the dog...but thats just me.

And we arent talking toxicity levels...we are talking about acutely irritating the dogs pancreas...and when the pancreas stops working properly because of it...your dog may die...ours did. And thats after $6000 of emergency vet bills

My wife is a vet. I just asked her. She said pancreatitis is typically triggered by fatty foods, not spices.

I asked her what would happen if a dog ate a bowl of salsa. She said diarrea.

ETA- sorry about your dog baw. Sincerely.

Hmm good to know salsa could upset the owner but not kill the dog. Might be a good lesson for the owner to keep better track of their pooch..

Rent-A-Pit

Go adopt a pit bull from the shelter, and when its job is done, take it to another shelter and drop it back off.

if they have collars they are somebody’s pets

put out a couple crate traps with dog food and bring them to a shelter

Catch the dogs.

Shoot the owner.

Easy peasy.

No they’re not deer hounds. Definitely didn’t say they were. Said they ruined MY DEER SEASON. One of them humped a neighbors dog, now the neighbor has 8 pups.. not great.

Neighbor up the road has a Rottweiler that was coming around being a nuisance plus he fought with my dog.I loaded my shotgun with 7 1/2 shot, let him get off a little ways and lit him up. He hasn’t been back.
He’s still at neighbors yards, looks fine.I’ve got game cameras out and I’ve gotten no pictures so I think he got the message.

Good to know he got the message. Unfortunately I have a few dogs coming around at different times. Not sure I have the time to sit and wait for them to show up, nor do I think I could knowingly shoot at a dog..

I get your point, but I have had no qualms whatsoever about shooting in the direction of dogs coming onto our property who might hassle mine; wasn't trying to hit them, just send a message;

don't think that counts as shooting "at"

Sorry for your loss and not to be insensitive, but you do realize 12 years is a hell of a run for a lab? I think something like 10 years is the average lifespan.

There was a local dog that would visit my duck pond and run around the spread. I returned the dog to the local owner and asked that they keep them off the property. They didn’t care.

So I started catching the dog and tying it to a corner post 2 miles from owners house. The owner left for work and had to drive past that corner; then go back to the house to return dog.

After 3 times the owner finally penned the dog (or shot it) because I never had the problem again.

Bring a pellet gun and shoot them in the arse everytime you see them. It probably won't take but once.
