Come on man. You show up in threads alot lately defending posters you like by pointing out others spelling and grammer errors. It's the fricking OD board not the moms tampon forum. Broke is a big boy and can defend himself.

Side question regarding out-of-state sales:
I understand the hassle of going through an FFL, and getting it shipped. I know you're one of the cheaper FFL transfer options, most are going to cost more than you charge. Plus, there's generally the cost of shipping (a few places do keep it cheap, most don't).
About what level of discount is it worthwhile to buy out of state and transfer, vs buy local? And would the local dealer prefer the option of matching and selling his own inventory (if he has one), vs doing the transfer, if it's the same price to the buyer?
I asked because awhile ago I think I used you (I think I know who you are) to transfer an entry level AR (S&W), not realizing you could likely have matched that. In a perfect world I would like the same rifle at the same price, but would have my payment go to a local guy instead of the bulk going out of state.

I hate having to buy pistols that are only on the CA compliant list

Short answer is most of the time it is better for the dealer to just take the transfer unless they're really just looking to turn over that particular gun. There is always going to be someone selling the gun you want for cheaper. Whether it be a shop looking to turn over stagnant inventory at a loss or CDNN dumping handguns for $1 over cost because of some deal they got on buying out another large dealer, quantity discounts or from blowing Kel-Tec's execs for an entire years worth of production on the PMR-30 . The new gun business has become a race to the bottom price game.
People who have been in the business awhile will tell you the first thing you should do when you receive your FFL is figure out a way to make money with it that isn't selling new guns.

This is really just personal preference, and depends on the item. Some people pay a little more and buy local because they want it now or prefer to support their local shop which provide them with advice, a place to look at guns and a quick place to get accessories and ammo. If you're looking for the absolute lowest price on S&W Shields, Glocks, Springfield XD, etc. then it's probably cheapest to buy online once all cost have been paid. Other things like $39 lower receivers online look like a great deal until you pay $10 shipping and a $20 transfer fee. You could probably find that locally cheaper. Some brands have barriers to entry or MAP pricing which helps keep the race-to-the-bottom online guys at bay and may be able to be had for cheaper locally. NFA stuff is usually cheaper to buy locally since NFA transfer fees are usually around $75-100.
