Do shellcrackers, aka red ears, do well in a farm pond or should

you stick with the bluegill-bass combination?

I have redear bluegill and bass in mine and they have done well and seem to keep a good balance. I haven't had to restock in 8 years and catch nice size of each in a 1 acre pond.

Shellcrackers do fine in a pond with bass and bluegill.

I have them along with bass, bream, white perch and catfish.My pond is about 1 1/2ac. Dug it out deeper and bigger this pass summer. Had a great spawn on all this spring.
