I'm worried that it will scratch or 'sand' my floor. My floor is wood plank. Store said it would not but the bottom of the rug sure feels rough

If you are worried buy some slab pad. Apply sticky tape between the rug and pad to keep it from shifting.
Cut the pad a few inches short all the way around so it dips back onto the floor and doesn't cause a trip hazard.

not sure about the floor, but pads are supposed to keep the rugs from wearing out as fast.

I think this would do better on the Soccer board.

Get one of those no-slip deals. They're kinda like the shite you put in your cabinets for glasses and dishes

I would not put a rug down on hard wood without a pad. It will scratch.

I did it with the understanding that I'm gonna redo the wood floors before I move out. It covers up most of my living room and has furniture on it, so I'm not worried about it moving and showing the scratches

put non slip pads under your rugs and when you vacuum, vacuum the back of the rug and the pad if you get any grit in between will scratch your floor
