diving in Akumal or Playa Del Carmen

anybody on here ever dive in Akumal or Playa Del Carmen ? we ususally dive in Cozumel but are trying something new this time. if you have any experience with dive shops or particular dives I would appreciate it. we are staying at Catalonia Riviera Resort.

Sorry, I missed this. I always dove with Phantom Divers. Jorge is a really cool guy. They have fallen out of favor because they do bull shark dives and lure them in. Non-issue for me.
Playa's diving doesn't even begin to compare to Coz's, but it's still not a bad place to dive. Current is very tame, almost lazy, and the buttresses and wall are absent.
All in all, they're fun, relaxing dives. Nothing challenging, but great for logging some bottom time.
