Did they "F" up my license/duck stamp?

I have a lifetime license. I went this morning and did the hip certification, got my deer tags, and federal duck stamp.
I know the fed duck stamp went up to $25, but I was charged $27.22.
On my License it says...
Or is that the cost plus tax, and the print out is valid for 45 days or until I receive my physical stamp in the mail?

It's all correct. The printout is valid for 45 days or until you get the real thing in the mail. The cost is some sort of convenience fee I believe.

They're taxing the duck tax bro. But it's for the wetlands and duck habitat so I'll have 10, please.

This is what happens when budgets get cut.

Mine was 27.22 also. I just figured they went up.

The 2.22 is a charge for mailing you the stamp that they used to hand you in the store and they call it a convenience fee

Go to post office, it's 25 even. Get HiP cert and other tags at your own convenience while checking out at Academy.

Couldn't you theoretically let someone else use the stamp once it comes in if you only planned to hunt teal season or one of the splits?
I hunt the whole season but it seems like a possible loophole for the short term hunters

You have to sign it and attach it to license

I know
But you have a signed receipt that's good for 45 days and an unsigned stamp once it comes in the mail

$2.22??? Oh my gawd! One gallon less of gas to get me to Toledo, where the ducks flock like the salmon of the Capistrano.

Where did you go that they didn't hand you a physical stamp after purchase?
